At some point in our lives most of us could do with extra support. That's all therapy really is, that bit of extra support, away from friends and family, who we often feel we have to protect and don't want to burden.
Therapy comes is many forms and as a therapist, with over 20 years experience, I've studied and worked with a range of different types of therapy. From standard talking like counselling to deep mind work like Parts Therapy.
Over that time I've learned that most issues are subconscious, as much as we are consciously aware of them.
What happens with a lot of therapy and pill based treatments, is that they deal with the conscious. Which, though this can help, it is often like a plaster over a wound that will eventually bleed right through.
When I first started working with clients, using conventional counselling it would often take a year of therapy before I would start to see any chances. This prompted me to look at more subconscious solutions...
I use many techniques and treatments to help with different issues, these include:
General Counselling: To help you share your issues without judgement.
Hypnosis: A means of working with your power subconscious mind to help get quicker resolutions to issues than standard talking therapies such as CBT.
Parts Therapy: Often we feel that one part of us wants one thing and other part wants another - this powerful therapy helps those parts find a compromise to move you forward.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP): This is a series of techniques that are used to build confidence, remove phobias and excellent for future planning and decision making.
Timeline therapy/regression/inner child work: This is the most powerful set of techniques I have found for dealing with anxiety/depression and trauma.
Psychosexual Therapy: A set of techniques that work specifically with sex related issues, whatever they may be (I've been a therapist for 20 years, so don't worry, I won't shock or judge - I'm here to help).
